Is there a reason why Dublin and Cork? Do you have to drive all the way from Dublin to Cork in one day? I was just in Ireland and personally wouldn’t stay in either Dublin or Cork but I assume you have a reason. If you don’t, I would urge you to consider other places. The interior from Dublin down to Cork has a few “good” roads that you might make reasonable time on. The scenery is similiar to that of upstate New York or Pennsylvania if you know either of those areas – not un-pretty, but not something I’d go all the way to Ireland to see.

Hook and eye closure. What a great experience. The corsetier first consulted me as to my life style, she also looked at my body and gave me a professional evalutation as to the type of girdle I should wear daily. I happen to have a small belly that effects my lower back and my posture. As far as my life style and what I do as work I am fairly active, but I work on computers meaning I sit a lot.

The sides were level in score on seven occasions throughout the first half but by the end it was Kilkenny who led by 0—13 to Tipperary’s 0— Second half[ edit ] The first notable action of the second half occurred when Kilkenny goalkeeper PJ Ryan saved from a Seamus Callinan effort on goal. Callinan, however, soon scored two points to bring the scores level, with Shane McGrath scoring the point that put Tipperary ahead once again.
Ryan soon saved another effort by Tipperary’s Kelly and Kilkenny players Shefflin and Hogan scored some more points. Tipperary substitute Benny Dunne was sent off in the 53rd minute for hitting out at Walsh. However Tipperary continued to dominate as Kelly, Noel McGrath and Callinan each scored points to keep their team two points ahead. A controversial penalty awarded against Tipperary was scored by Shefflin and within one minute Martin Comerford on as a substitute consolidated Kilkenny’s lead with a second goal.
This was third time lucky for Galway, who lost previous finals in and There was no stopping Galway as they confidently overcame the challenge of Mayo. Galway were led by brilliant performances from full forward Reaney and Louise Ward, who was a constant threat to the Mayo defence from corner forward. Mayo started the game brightly despite a gale force breeze and Fiona Doherty put them into an early lead with two frees. However, that would be as good as it got for Mayo as Galway began to impose their dominance on the scoreboard from the fifth minute onwards.

History of hurling Hurling is older than the recorded history of Ireland. It is thought to predate Christianity, having come to Ireland with the Celts. Hurling is related to the games of shinty that is played primarily in Scotland, cammag on the Isle of Man and bando which was played formerly in England and Wales. Similar tales are told about Fionn Mac Cumhail and the Fianna , his legendary warrior band.
Recorded references to hurling appear in many places such as the fourteenth century Statutes of Kilkenny and a fifteenth-century grave slab survives in Inishowen , County Donegal. Villages would play games involving hundreds of players, which would last several hours or even days.
